How do I migrate users and tokens from my on-prem account to a cloud account or other on-prem installations?

SurePassID Account Manager is an app that makes this very easy. The tool is utilized to migrate users and tokens from one SurePassID account (tenant) to another. It is used to transfer users from an on-premises SurePassID installation to the SurePassID government cloud or between on-premises installations. This is especially useful for air-gapped systems.

Before starting, ensure that you have the appropriate setup for migrating from the source (current) SurePassID installation to the target SurePassID installation.

To prepare the source machine, you will need the following:

  • Access to the SurePassID server.
  • Access to the SurePassID database.
  • Access to the target server, ensuring that there are no firewall rules blocking the Account Manager from updating the target account via the REST API.

Next, download the migration tool to the specified machine. After downloading, unzip the file and run the installer. For the download link, please contact SurePassID directly.

To prepare the target machine, you will need the following:

  • Ensure that you have Administrator access to the SurePassID account.
  • Next, generate an API key that provides the required permissions for adding users and tokens to the account.
  • The Account Manager app will need both the API Key Id and API Key to function correctly.

Once you have completed these preparations, you can launch the application and enter the necessary parameters to initiate the migration (export) of users.
