How do I replace an expired site license?

If your license for on-site SPAS has expired, SurePassID will provide you with a new license file to ensure that your operations can continue smoothly without any interruptions. Although you won't be able to sign into the portal with an expired license, you can still process authentication requests for WLM/RADIUS/SAML, and more.

The site.lic file is located in the BIN folder of the main install folder for SPAS (MFA). When your license expires, you will need to obtain a new one and replace the existing file with it.

Here's what you need to do once you receive the new license file:

1. Start by downloading the file and saving it to your SPAS server(s).

2. It's important to create a backup of the existing site.lic file. After that, simply replace it with the new license file.

3. Make sure the new file is named site.lic with no additional extension (e.g., site.lic instead of site.lic.txt).

By following these steps, you can ensure that your new license is properly installed and that you can sign in with your portal admin account. If you also need to update the expiration date for your tenant to match the new license, you can accomplish this by running a query against the SQL DB as outlined in the "Change Tenant Expiry" KB article.
