VERSION RELEASE - SurePassID 23.2 (Cloud) - October 20, 2024

Due to customer requests and additional required testing time, we will now be releasing SurePassID 23.2, the latest version of our cloud platform, on October 27th. This is a major upgrade that brings new features and security enhancements that will benefit all customers. 

  • Phishing-Resistant MFA
    • Full support for WebAuthn standard in the SurePassID Authentication Server.
      Phishing-resistant MFA has been enabled in the following SurePassID components:
      • SAML2 IdP
      • Office 365 IdP
      • Windows Logon MFA with Offline 2FA
      • ServicePass User Self-Service Portal
      • ADFS
    • Full support for both passkeys (password-less) and security keys (second factor only) for FIDO2 tokens.
    • Additional object support for Azure Key Vault secret protection.
  • API Access
    • Enhance your API security with our advanced auditing features, providing comprehensive control over access, policies, and permissions.
    • Capture more data such as the name of the requester's API key, the method of authentication, and the telemetry of API requests for analysis using machine learning algorithms.
  • Log Management
    • Additional support for additional SIEM/SOAR/XDR platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, and others.
    • Enhanced administrative audit capture and reporting.
    • One-click FIDO2 token activation.
    • One-click script for automatic creation of fully configured SurePassID Authentication Server instance using complete Azure infrastructure and best security practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SUREPASSID 23.2

  • You will have advance release access to SurePassID 23.2 at https://mfa-preview.surepassid.com. We invite you to log in and explore the exciting new features! Your current admin accounts will work with the preview system.
    • The preview system is populated with a snapshot of the current production system but is a standalone sandbox. Any modifications made in the preview system will not be reflected in your production account.
    • Except for SAML2 users (refer to the information below), no specific changes need to be made to your existing configuration for the upgrade. However, we highly recommend testing your current systems, such as RADIUS access, ADFS (Active Directory Federated Services), or Windows Login Manager, using the preview system prior to the upgrade.
    • To conduct the test, simply modify the SurePassID MFA Server endpoint from https://cloud.surepassid.com (or https://cloud2.surepassid.com) to the new address: https://mfa-preview.surepassid.com.
    • If your organization has outbound firewalls/proxy servers to SurePassID, you will need to add the following to your outbound firewall rules/proxy servers:
      • agw-prod-eus2.eastus2.cloudapp.azure.com (20.7.233.58)
      • agw-prod-wus3.westus3.cloudapp.azure.com (20.118.177.188)
    • The preview system serves as a dedicated environment for limited testing purposes and is distinct from the current production system. Feel free to reach out to our support team, who will be delighted to provide assistance in testing your systems.
  • All cloud customers will be migrated to SurePassID 23.2 in October – automatically. As we countdown to the highly anticipated date of Friday, October 27th at 11 p.m. EST, we will keep you well-informed with all the exciting upgrade details and the latest status updates.
  •  We expect the system to be unavailable for an hour. If you experience any problems following the upgrade, please reach out to our support team promptly. 
  • Important note for SAML2 users. Once the upgrade is complete, the new version will require you to log in to your SurePassID account, create a brand new SAML2 certificate, and integrate it into your SAML2 applications like Google Workspaces, Secret Server, Password Keeper, and more. If you would like our support team to assist you with this process, please open a ticket in our Customer Support Portal.
